C’mon, DirecTV. Firefighters are true heroes, and deserve only respect. Exploiting their self-sacrifice on TV? WITHOUT Dennis Leary’s prior consent? Unacceptable.

In all seriousness, this commercial is in poor taste. My problem is not really with the graphic subject matter, but with the dude who watches the whole scene unfold with that dead look in his eyes. Walking calmly around his expansive house – he seems entirely emotionally detached. This ad ends up coming off as creepy, even a bit sociopathic.
